Kaiwarua station is in the heart of the New Zealand South Island. The mountains and hills of this high country station are covered with tussock grassland and contain beautiful mountain streams. It all comes together and forms a remote outdoor wonderland. Additionally, within half a days drive from the station there are major tourist attractions like; Mount Cook (NZ highest mountain); Queenstown (NZ adventure capital); 6 commercial ski field; numerous lakes and the ocean?

Mountain-biking
Kaiwarua Station is a mountain bikers paradise with plenty of options the
choice of tracks are endless. Follow the river for a leisurely bike ride or for a more physical workout climb up into the golden tussocks and stop for a bite to eat out at the Musterer’s Hut. Alternatively follow any of the tracks. The rides are endless and no two are the same. Bikes are available for rental.
Horse Trekking
You are welcome to bring your own horses You may want to get a feel for the back country and stay overnight at the Musterer’s Hut.
Backcountry Fishing
It doesn’t get any better then having the privacy of the river at your backdoor with beautiful fishing pools. While staying in the comfort of our lodge with all meals cooked, you get to enjoy the unspoilt surrounds of Kaiwarua Station
3 day fly fishing or customised packages available.
4wd Picnic Trips
Enjoy driving your own four wheel vehicle over the tops of the station into the golden tussocks then down to the river for a leisurely lunch. Picnic lunch can be provided.

Walk, Tramp, Hike Kaiwarua Station Backcountry
Explore nature at its best. Take our Eco 3 day Hike, and you will
walk over some truly amazing high country tussock land. Watch out
for wallabies and native falcons, swallows, ducks, the list is endless.
